PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SHOALS CLUB WILL BE CLOSED ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2023 DUE TO THE PREDICTED INCLEMENT WEATHER FROM POTENTIAL CYCLONE #16. WE EXPECT TO RESUME NORMAL CLUB OPERATING HOURS ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2023.

The Shoals Club is a Members Only club therefore, access to the Shoals Club’s dining venues and amenities is available to Members and registered Temporary Guest Members of the club only.

The club will be closed in its entirety on Saturday, September 2, 2023 for the Annual Member Party. Beach access with chairs and umbrellas will be available from 9am-4pm. Temporary Shoals Club Members will have limited access to the Bald Head Island Club for the day. Please call the office for details.


There are so many things to love about the Shoals Club – lounging by the pool, strolling out to the Cape Fear Point, savoring fresh seafood while enjoying an unmatched view of the ocean. Conveniences like locker rooms, towel service and poolside food and beverage service make spending the entire day at the beach a breeze. Family activities and kid-friendly holiday parties create opportunities for all ages to relax, celebrate and enjoy time together.

A Note about the Shoals Club Beach - The Shoals Club has experienced some changes to the beach over the past few months. We are working together as a community with the Village of BHI, the Conservancy, coastal engineers, civil engineers, club leadership, and professionals to explore options, and seek permits for appropriate short-term and long-term plans. For your safety, we ask that you stay off of the sandbags. Please be aware that we may have to close off beach access from time to time. We will continue to monitor the situation and will report on our progress together.


The Shoals Club is open seasonally from March through November, with limited hours throughout the winter.

Access to the Shoals Club is made available through a membership attached to a Bald Head Island property. Temporary Memberships are available, for a fee, to guests staying in the home of a Shoals Club member. Learn more about temporary membership.
