| | Shoals Club Temporary Membership (June 26, 2020 Announcement)
Please read the attachment - we hope you enjoy your stay with us.
Greetings from the Shoals Club on Bald Head Island!
We hope this email finds you and your family safe and well. The health of our members, guests, employees, and island community is our top priority as we operate the Shoals Club in accordance with Governor Cooper's Phase 2 “Safer at Home” order, which runs through July 17, 2020. We are pleased to offer Temporary Memberships in the Shoals Club and ask that you note the important information below.
Shoals Club Temporary Memberships can be obtained by completing the request form found here and emailing it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Full-price, weeklong Temporary Memberships are required from June-August. All Temporary Membership sales are final and no discounts will be given. We recommend submitting your form as early as possible.
We will contact you when your Temporary Membership cards are ready for pick-up. Due to limited space in our office, we will not accept walk-ins for processing; however, completed forms may be dropped off for processing.
Please note: no access will be granted to any Shoals Club amenities prior to the issuance of Temporary Membership cards. Membership cards are required for entry to the property and may be required to be shown throughout the property at various locations.
For the safety of our members, guests and employees, The Shoals Club is participating in the NC initiative “Count on Me” and has trained all food & beverage staff and managers in the necessary protocols. Learn more about the Count on Me initiative here.
Food & beverage outlets will operate in accordance with the Governor's required parameters, including a reduction in inside seating to a maximum of 50% capacity.
Reservations for indoor dining at dinner are REQUIRED by calling 910-454-4850 up to 48 hours in advance for Temporary Members. Space and available reservation times may be limited.
Outdoor dining will be on a First Come/First Served system.
All dinner dining check-in will be at the host station located outside on the Presentation Deck overlooking East Beach.
The Verandahs porches will be utilized as a waiting area for dining so that people may social distance appropriately.
In addition to our food & beverage outlet menus, we will also offer Takeout Service from a custom menu that includes a la carte and family meal options. Restaurant menus are posted on www.shoalsclub.com.
Temporary Membership access to the Pool will be by reservation of a 2-hour block by calling 910-454-4888 up to 24 hours in advance.
Maximum capacity for the Main Pool will be 80 persons.
Maximum capacity at the wading pool will be 20 persons.
5 slots are available each day at the main pool from 9-10 a.m. for lap swimming.
Wading pool reservations begin at 9 a.m. and are available on the hour through 5 p.m.
Main pool reservations begin at 10 a.m. and are available on the hour through 5 p.m.
From 6 p.m. to closing, access to the pool will be granted first come/first served on a space available basis.
Temporary Members may make 1 pool reservation per day for up to 10 persons per membership.
We will be using a color-coded wristband system for pool reservations.
Temporary Members may utilize the Sandbar Grille for lunch without a pool reservation by accessing the restaurant via the Verandahs porches (staff will be available to guide you).
Temporary Members using the pool may go to Sandbar Grille for lunch before or after their pool reservation (staff will be available to guide you).
Temporary Members enjoy full access to the beach. Beach amenities, including chairs and umbrellas, are available for checkout (1 umbrella per 2 chairs) during regular hours.
The Fitness Room and sandbox play area are closed throughout Phase 2, in compliance with Governor Cooper’s order.
The Shoals Club is currently a cashless operation. Please plan to bring a credit card for payment.
Please assist us by staying home if you are not feeling well, wearing a cloth mask while on property where appropriate, washing hands regularly, distancing while waiting in lines, and using provided hand sanitizer regularly.
Additionally, Governor Cooper has announced that face coverings will be required statewide in public settings where social distancing is not possible. Please note the requirements below.
North Carolina Face Coverings Required - Phase II Continues through July 17
The Shoals Club staff will remind all Members and Guest Members of the requirement to wear a mask to enter the club facilities. We will have a limited supply of masks for those who may have forgotten theirs.
Face coverings must be worn safely, covering both nose and mouth.
Face coverings must be worn anytime you may come within six feet of another person as you move about the club facilities.
Face coverings may be removed when you are seated in a restaurant. You must put them back on when you leave your chair to move about the facilities.
Face coverings must be worn when social distancing is not possible, in lines, groups, or when you are passing closely to people.
Face coverings are not required when you are swimming in the pool, but you must maintain six feet safe social distance from non-family members. Masks may be removed in your chair at the pool deck.
Face coverings are not required during outdoor exercise if safe social distancing is being practiced.
Per the Governor’s Order, children under 11 and those with a documented qualifying medical condition are exempt from wearing masks, but must maintain a safe social distance from others.
Most importantly, if you are sick, have symptoms, or have a temperature, or you have had unsafe exposure to someone that has tested positive, please remain quarantined and do not visit the Shoals Club.
There will be some understandable frustration with safe social distancing capacity in Phase II. The capacity limitations will make it challenging to allow everyone to use the club when and how they want. We will do everything we can to establish procedures to manage equitable access; ultimately it will be up to everyone to be kind, patient and thoughtful.
Please know that we are operating in new ways and are doing our best to offer you an exceptional experience within the necessary guidelines. Thank you for your patience and support as we navigate these times together. On behalf of our entire staff, we look forward to welcoming you to the Shoals Club.
