Nothing Beats the View

For those who have visited the Shoals Club before, it is no secret that the beach is without a doubt the best part. For those who have not visited yet, you are in for a real treat. The Shoals Club is perfectly located off of the Frying Pan Shoals at “The Point”, where East Beach and South Beach meet. It is the ideal destination for all those wanting to get the perfect tan, catch some waves, or even catch some fish.

One of the aspects that keeps people coming back year after year is the complimentary chairs and umbrellas that we offer with our membership. Any trip to the beach should be as carefree as possible, and we are happy to take the additional luggage off your hands. While grabbing a complimentary chair and umbrella on the boardwalk is a luxury, the true luxury is simply the natural beauty that that can be found here at the Shoals Club. The clear water, blue skies, and warm sand are truly something out of a postcard, sure to provide you with an unforgettable experience. Those who know the beach could talk for hours about its wonders, but it is simply something that we encourage you to experience yourself to fully appreciate all it has to offer.

It seems as though this beach is capable of providing for any lifestyle or activity throughout the day. Swing by in the morning to get in the perfect run as the sun is rising. Come in the afternoon to catch a wave or test your skills at sandcastle building. Whatever your pleasure, it is all fun times and tan lines each day. Head down to the beach later in the evening while the sun in setting to meet the regulars of the island, hoping to reel something in for dinner.

It can be said without a doubt that the beaches of Bald Head Island are unlike any other beaches along the Carolina coast. Anyone used to the crowded and chaotic beaches of more tourist based locations will be in for a refreshing surprise when they come to visit, kick their feet back, and not hit anyone in front of them. The combination of the view, the space, and the atmosphere could not make for a better vacation destination. We look forward to having you here and sharing the beauty with you.

Never Leave Hungry

While the Shoals Club strives to create the perfect vacation destination for any family, offering sensational views and exciting activities, we also recognize the importance of good food, and its role in fueling the body and soul for a day at the beach. The club offers four unique places to eat on the premises, but the focus today is on the Sandbar Grille and Latitudes. These two options take a more casual approach emphasizing the laid back, relaxed atmosphere of the island. They offer our members a wide range of exciting options to leave every guest with full bellies and smiling faces.

Whether you are looking for a delicious juicy burger, a refreshing watermelon salad, or one of our many cocktails to sip while you bask in the sun, the Sandbar Grille offers it all. The poolside location allows guests to easily transition from the pool to the table and back again for more fun in the sun. Our popular weekly Taco Tuesdays at the grille are back from last year, prepared to offer our guests an endless supply of shrimp ceviche and pork adobo, perfectly paired with churros and live music.

Head over to our Latitudes bar and lounge for heavy gourmet appetizers and fine wines. While the Shoals Club does cater to temporary and full members, we value the dedication and commitment of our full members and show our appreciation in a wide variety of ways, including our half price appetizer nights at Latitudes. This gives full members the opportunity to enjoy the spectacular view, listen to live music, and spoil themselves with some of Executive Chef Caitlyn Fisher’s finest creations.

This is the fourth season at the club for Caitlyn Fisher and the third season as Executive Chef. Those who had the pleasure of dining with us in past years, will be happy to know that the same creativity and expertise that went into each dish last year, will be brought to the table by Chef Fisher again this year. Chef Fisher has been working in kitchens since she was 18 years old, and it is clear that cooking is a passion and joy in her life. Anyone who knows her, knows that she puts her heart and soul into her job, providing true works of art for our guests.

We look forward to having you dine with us and are eager to share the true talent that comes with Chef Fisher as well as the rest of the kitchen staff.

Member Infomation Update Form

Dear Shoals Club Member,

Thank you for the fabulous year we had at the Shoals Club. We pride ourselves on helping you have a spectacular time at the beach, pool and dining venues. This email serves three purposes:
  • To have you update your membership information (see link to form below);

  • To accumulate photos to be put on new membership cards; and

  • To gather information on your interests in Shoals Club activities.

To maintain an accurate database, we need your help. We have found that your member information may be lacking or out of date. This information is often needed to get in touch with you for lost credit cards, driver’s licenses, jewelry or sunglasses. It is hard to return items if we cannot reach the owner. There are a number of other reasons we need updated information from you, including for billing and for verifying access for your children and other immediate family that are attached to your membership as Annual Members. With that said, please complete the Member Information Update form found online here and send it back as soon as possible, but no later than January 31, 2018, to

In the future, we want to improve security to ensure your membership is protected, preventing nonmembers from slipping through the cracks with invalid, outdated or borrowed cards. We will strive to have pictures on all our members’ cards by the time the summer season starts. The new cards will be waiting for you at the Shoals Club office. Please email us a digital file with a close up facial picture (preferably a .JPG format). These pictures can come from your phone camera directly to our email at, or you can email us any digital photo from your computer. Face position must be front view (no selfies, sunglasses or headwear please).

We strive to make the Shoals Club the most desirable place to spend time on Bald Head Island. In order to accomplish that goal we would like feedback on what activities make your experience here enjoyable. On the bottom of the Member Information Update form, please check the activities that interest you.

We look forward to a great new year of lasting friendships and wonderful experiences enjoyed by all. Our goal is to make your time at the Shoals Club memorable and stress free. Shoals Club Summer 2017 Season Updates

Shoals Club Summer Season Updates

The 2017 Season at the Shoals Club is off to a running start, with well-attended events during Easter and Memorial Day Weekend and very positive feedback from members. With July Fourth just around the corner, we’re looking forward to a great summer serving full members and temporary members.

We’re delighted to announce that the Shoals Club full member discount at Sandbar Grille, Latitudes and AQUA for food purchases is now 25%! Please remember that the wait staff have been instructed that to enjoy the member discount, the member must be the party paying the bill and must present his or her membership card. If you do not present your card, we will be unable to apply the discount.

Through Labor Day, we’re instituting priority seating at the Sandbar Grille, with a reserved section exclusively for full members on a first-come, first-served basis. To take advantage of this new member benefit, you will need to identify yourself to the hostess by presenting your membership card, similar to the Members’ Deck at the pool. We hope priority seating will improve the experience for our full members who are here in the busy summer months.

Taco Tuesday kicks off this week at the Sandbar Grille, so come enjoy the great fare, entertainment by our DJ, and pool games for the kids. Family Movie Night follows the Taco Tuesday festivities and is free to full members and their immediate family (popcorn and drink included!).

Families also won’t want to miss out on our Sea Hags and Scallywags party on Saturday night, June 24th as a part of Pirate Weekend. Come as you are or come dressed as a pirate. It promises to be a blast! View a complete menu online.

Another popular perk we’re offering full members this season is Member Night at Latitudes. Each Monday evening through Labor Day, full members can enjoy 50% off food purchases from the food menu at Latitudes. Again, the member needs to be the party paying the check and needs to present his or her membership card to the server at the time the order is placed. You'll be pleased to know we also have live entertainment booked most evenings to lend additional atmosphere to the Latitudes dining experience again this year.

Our premier dining venue, AQUA, continues to receive rave reviews. Because of the restaurant’s popularity, please remember to make reservations for dinner by calling 910-454-4888. We hold a reservation slot for full members at each seating to facilitate availability, but are seeing many members arrive at the hostess station without reservations. As we head into the busy season, not calling ahead may result in our having to turn the member away during the summer months. Reservations are a necessity from now until Labor Day especially. If you arrive and see empty tables, it does not mean they are available, as more than likely they are reserved for parties whose reservation times have not yet arrived.

A few friendly reminders: To ensure the best possible experience for Shoals Club members, please remember membership cards are required for all members anytime you are on Club property. The staff has been instructed to send members without cards to the main office to obtain a temporary card. This policy is part of the membership agreement and necessary to protecting the value of Shoals Club membership by ensuring that those using the Club are authorized to do so. Also, please remember that your unaccompanied guests require a temporary membership and those arrangements need to be made by contacting the Shoals Club office at 910-454-4888 at least 5 days in advance. A temporary membership registration form can be found here. Membership cards are not transferable and members are not allowed to give their cards to others to gain access to the Club. Unfortunately, we still have members who attempt to bypass the temporary membership process, which causes inconvenience and delayed access to the Club for their guests.

Please keep in mind, Annual Membership Passes are available to parents of members and children of members who are over the age of 23. Members who would like to make arrangements for Annual Membership Passes can contact the Administrative Office to obtain a registration form. The cost for the Annual Membership Pass is $150 for an individual or $250 for a family. Full member discounts and separate account charging privileges do not apply to Annual Membership Passes.

Many of the enhancements at the Shoals Club and additional benefits to our full members are the direct result of member feedback. We always welcome member suggestions. If you have comments, questions or concerns related to the overall Club experience or policies, please address those directly with me in person by stopping by the Shoals Club office, or by calling 910-454-4888, or by emailing me at Our managers and staff are working diligently to provide the best Shoals Club experience possible and are happy to address issues specifically related to their area of responsibility; however, global suggestions or concerns should be directed to my attention for more efficient and effective resolution.

As always, we appreciate the opportunity to provide an outstanding experience for all members, their guests and temporary members. Be sure to check and our Facebook page regularly for updates, hours of operation and menus, so you can plan your next visit to the Shoals Club. We look forward to a great season!

Best regards,
